Meet Hua Hua: Chengdu’s Star Panda!
Hello young panda fans! Today we’re going to meet one of the most famous pandas in the world: Hua Hua! 🐼
Who is Hua Hua?
Hua Hua is a beautiful giant panda who lives at the Chengdu Research Base in China. She was born on July 4, 2020, which makes her a summer baby! Her name “花花” means “flower flower” in Chinese, and she certainly blooms with personality!
Fun Fact: Hua Hua is one of a twin pair! She has a brother who was born at the same time.
What Makes Hua Hua Special?

A Day in Hua Hua’s Life
Let’s follow Hua Hua through her daily routine:
Morning (8:00 AM)

- Breakfast time: fresh bamboo shoots
Mid-Morning (10:00 AM)
- Playtime! Hua Hua loves climbing on her special play structures
- Sometimes she gets puzzle toys with treats inside
- Outdoor exploration in her grassy enclosure
Afternoon (1:00 PM)
- Lunch: more bamboo, plus some special panda biscuits
- Nap time! Pandas sleep about 10-14 hours a day
- Afternoon snack: maybe some apples or carrots
Evening (4:00 PM)
- More playtime or gentle walks
- Dinner: her favorite bamboo leaves
- Getting ready for bedtime
Hua Hua’s Favorite Things
🎋 Food: Bamboo is her absolute favorite! She eats about 20-30 kilograms (44-66 pounds) every day. That’s like eating 200 hamburgers!
🎮 Toys: She loves bamboo puzzle toys and climbing structures
🌳 Activities: Climbing, rolling in the grass, and exploring new things
👩⚕️ People: She’s very friendly with her caretakers who take care of her every day
