About Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding

The Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding is one of the world's leading panda conservation and research centres, established in 1987. Located in the northern suburbs of Chengdu, Sichuan Province, the base spans over 200 hectares and houses more than 200 giant pandas, making it the largest artificial breeding population of giant pandas in the world. The facility is divided into several functional areas including breeding enclosures, research laboratories, veterinary hospitals, and public education zones.
