The Macao Giant Panda Pavilion, located in Seac Pai Van Park on Coloane Island of Macao SAR, is a specialized zoological facility dedicated to the conservation of *Ailuropoda melanoleuca* (giant panda) and *Ailurus fulgens* (red panda). First opened in 2010 to welcome the central government of China's gifted giant pandas "Kaikai" and "Xinxin" from the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, the pavilion is operated by the Civil and Municipal Affairs Bureau of Macao SAR and holds accreditation from the World Association of Zoos and Aquariums. The 7.1-acre site is designed to replicate the natural environmental conditions of the Qionglai Mountains in Sichuan Province, the core native habitat of wild giant pandas, with over 3,000 bamboo plants of 12
