The China Conservation and Research Center for the Giant Panda (CCRCGP) concluded its 2026 "National Treasures in Green Mountains" (国宝在绿水青山) birthday season enrichment events on August 12, 2026.
The enrichment activities ran in parallel at the center's five bases — Shenshuping, Mianyang, Dujiangyan, Ya'an, and Wolong Hetaoping — along with the Shunan Bamboo Sea (蜀南竹海) Giant Panda Park. On-site events featured birthday-themed enrichment items designed to stimulate natural behaviors, including ice cakes, fruit towers, and bamboo-based toys.
The season also included a livestream broadcast originating from Mianyang Base, with recorded segments from the center's other locations. The annual celebration highlights the center's ongoing enrichment program, which aims to improve welfare for captive pandas through behavioral stimulation and environmental variety.
