About Everland Resort

Everland Resort is South Korea's largest theme park, located in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province. Opened in 1976 as a family entertainment complex, Everland includes amusement rides, gardens, and a zoo that houses various animal species. The resort's Panda World exhibit opened in 2016 following the arrival of giant pandas from China. The panda habitat at Everland is designed to replicate the natural environment of giant pandas in China's Sichuan Province. It features both indoor and outdoor areas with temperature and humidity control systems, climbing structures, waterfalls, and extensive bamboo plantations. The exhibit was specifically designed to meet the needs of the pandas while providing educational opportunities for visitors. In 2016, Everland became home to two giant pandas, Ai Bao and Le Bao, who arrived from China as part of a conservation cooperation agreement. The birth of Fu Bao in 2016 marked the first giant panda birth in South Korea, making Everland an important site for panda conservation in the country. The panda exhibit at Everland has played a significant role in raising public awareness about giant panda conservation in South Korea. The resort's educational programs and research collaborations with Chinese conservation authorities contribute to global efforts to protect this endangered species.
