Yue Yue (月月, studbook #1052) is a male giant panda born October 4, 2016 at Shanghai Zoo. Twin of Ban Ban (半半), he and his sister were the first panda twins born in East China. His mother is You You (优优). Named through public vote, "月" takes the谐音 of "越" (surpass) and "悦" (joy), paired with "半" to echo the sound of "panda." Known for his outgoing, adventurous personality, he celebrated his first birthday with a traditional "抓周" ceremony at 29 kg.
