Huan Lili (Chinese: 欢黎黎) is a female giant panda born on August 2, 2021, at ZooParc de Beauval in Saint-Aignan, France. She holds the global studbook number 1288. Her birth weight was 149 grams.
She is the daughter of Yuan Zi (圆仔, studbook 550) and Huan Huan (欢欢, studbook 951), who arrived at Beauval Zoo in 2012. Her twin sister is Yuan Du Du (圆嘟嘟).
Naming Ceremony (November 18, 2021)
On the twins’ 100-day milestone, Beauval Zoo held an elaborate naming ceremony decorated with red lanterns, stone lions, and hexagonal pavilions in traditional Chinese style. Over 122,000 people participated in the online vote, choosing from 5 candidate name pairs. “Huan Lili” won with 38.22% of votes.
Her name combines “欢” (Huan) from her mother Huan Huan and “黎黎” (Li Li) from Paris (巴黎), symbolizing France-China friendship. Her sister’s name combines “圆” from their father Yuan Zi with “嘟嘟” from Chengdu (成都).
In a unique honor, Kylian Mbappé, the French football superstar, served as Huan Lili’s godfather, and Zhang Jiaqi, Chinese Olympic gold medalist in diving, served as her godmother. They jointly unveiled the names at the ceremony.
Appearance
Huan Lili has a longer muzzle and fluffy fur, more closely resembling her father Yuan Zi. She was once recorded at 100.15 kg at her peak weight.
Life at Beauval
Public Debut
On December 11, 2021, Huan Lili and Yuan Du Du made their first public appearance at Beauval Zoo’s panda house.

Current Status
Huan Lili and Yuan Du Du continue to reside at Beauval Zoo. On December 4, 2025, during French President Macron’s visit to China, a new cooperation agreement was signed, extending their stay in France until January 2027. Their parents Yuan Zi and Huan Huan returned to China in November 2025 due to age-related health concerns.
Huan Lili can be viewed at the “China Summit” area of Beauval Zoo, with both indoor glass viewing and outdoor access.
