She is the younger twin of Huan Lili (欢黎黎, studbook 1288). Their parents are Yuan Zi (圆仔, studbook 550) and Huan Huan (欢欢, studbook 951). Yuan Dudu also has an older brother Yuan Meng (圆梦) (born 2017).
Naming
At the naming ceremony on November 18, 2021, her name was revealed: “圆” (Yuan) comes from her father Yuan Zi, and “嘟嘟” (Du Du) represents Chengdu (成都), her parents’ hometown in China. Combined with her sister’s name “欢黎黎” (Paris), the names symbolize the France-China friendship.
Like her sister, her godfather is Kylian Mbappé and godmother is Zhang Jiaqi.
Life at Beauval Zoo
Public Debut
On December 11, 2021, Yuan Dudu and Huan Lili made their first public appearance at the zoo’s panda house.

By age one, Yuan Dudu weighed approximately 60 kg. She is described as quick, agile, and endlessly curious, often playing energetically and sleeping on tree branches after meals.
Current Status
Yuan Dudu will continue living at Beauval Zoo until January 2027 under the renewed Sino-French cooperation agreement signed in December 2025. Her parents Yuan Zi and Huan Huan returned to China in November 2025 due to age-related health issues.
