Chao Chao (Chinese: 吵吵, “Noisy”, adopted name Dan Zai/蛋仔 — “Eggie”), is a female giant panda born on July 14, 2022 at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. Her mother is Er Qiao (二巧) and her twin sister is Nao Nao (闹闹).
In December 2022, she was named as part of the base’s “Class of 2022.”
Eggy Party Adoption
Chao Chao was lifelong adopted by NetEase Games for their popular mobile game “Eggy Party” (蛋仔派对) and renamed “Dan Zai” (蛋仔) after the game’s egg-shaped characters.
Mistaken for Hua Hua
Chao Chao’s eating style — particularly the way she holds and bites into bamboo shoots — has occasionally led visitors to mistake her for the internet-famous He Hua (和花/花花).
