Qing He (Chinese: ??, meaning “celebration”), studbook number 535, is a female giant panda born on September 24, 2001 at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding. Her mother is the renowned matriarch Qing Qing (??, sb278). She was named to commemorate Beijing’s successful bid for the 2008 Olympic Games, which was announced one month before her birth.
Qing He was born and raised at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding and continues to reside there. Known for her distinctive small eye rings and clean white fur, she is considered one of the most attractive pandas in the Qing Qing family line. She has given birth to four litters totaling seven cubs, including the UNDP Global Panda Ambassadors Qi Qi (??) and Dian Dian (??) born in 2015.
