Xing Ning (Chinese: 星宁, meaning “star peace”), studbook number 1352, is a male giant panda born on July 30, 2023 at Dalian Zoo in Liaoning Province, China. He and his sibling Liang Ning (亮宁, sb1353) were born on the same day, representing a landmark breeding success for Dalian Zoo.
Xing Ning was born and raised at Dalian Zoo’s panda exhibit and continues to reside there. Dalian Zoo is one of the few facilities in northeastern China to successfully breed giant pandas. Xing Ning has become a popular attraction for visitors to Dalian, a major port city on the Liaodong Peninsula.
