Zheng Zheng was named following her adoption by Zhejiang Zhenghui Lighting Engineering Co., Ltd. (浙江正辉照明工程有限公司), with the company name “正辉” sharing the character “正” used in her name.

Notable Achievements

Twin Birth in 2023

On August 9, 2023, Zheng Zheng gave birth to male twin cubs at the Qinling Giant Panda Research Center. This made her a mother of four litters total. Both cubs were reported to be in good health after the birth.

Mother of Ba Zai

Zheng Zheng is the mother of Ba Zai (八仔, #1260), the son of Qi Zai (七仔), the world’s only captive brown-and-white giant panda. This pairing demonstrated successful breeding between the Qinling subspecies and the brown panda lineage.
