Short version
Qi Guo (奇果, studbook #1009) is a female giant panda born July 1, 2016 at Chengdu Base. Twin of Qi Yi (奇一), daughter of Qi Yuan (奇缘). Known for her perfectly round face — she was voted the "Sweetest Panda of the 2016 Class." A natural climber, she took to trees as soon as she could walk. In 2019, she moved to Xining Panda House — the world's highest-altitude panda facility — where she lives with Yuan Man (园满), He Xing (和兴), and Shuang Xin (双欣), enjoying the cool高原 summer.
Qi Guo (Chinese: 奇果, studbook number 1009) is a female giant panda born on July 1, 2016 at the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding, weighing 101 grams at birth. She and her twin sister Qi Yi (奇一, 110g) were the second litter of mother Qi Yuan (奇缘). Together, the twins are called “Qi Yi Guo” (奇异果) — a pun on “kiwifruit” (猕猴桃).
She was voted the “Sweetest Panda of the 2016 Class” (16级最甜美熊) for her exceptionally round face.
Qi Guo was a natural climber from the start — she was climbing trees almost as soon as she could walk. While other cubs her age were still wobbling on the ground, Qi Guo was already perched in the branches, earning her reputation as “the fruit that grows on trees” (长在树上的果果熊).
Her time with her mother Qi Yuan was limited but memorable, producing classic viral clips: “stealing mom’s bamboo shoots” and “begging for sympathy together.”
On June 5, 2019, Qi Guo and Yuan Man (园满) moved to the newly built Xining Panda House (西宁熊猫馆) in Qinghai Province — the world’s highest-altitude panda facility and China’s largest single-building panda house. The facility was specifically designed for the高原 environment, with carefully controlled temperature and humidity.
Qi Guo adapted well to the cool高原 climate, enjoying the natural air conditioning that Xining’s altitude provides. She now lives there alongside Yuan Man, He Xing (和兴), and Shuang Xin (双欣).
Qi Guo is described as lively and playful (活泼), with a particular talent for “demolishing” enrichment toys (拆家). Her expressive face has made her a popular subject for emoji表情包.
